FM 3083 REOPENS AFTER FATAL CRASH

Just after 3 pm Thursday a white pickup stopped for the stop sign on Pollock and FM 3083 then continued to make a left turn into the intersection. A motorcycle that was westbound on FM 3083 had time to apply his brakes almost 50 feet before striking the pickup in the left front fender.

MCHD responded to the scene but was unable to revive the motorcycle driver.

FM 3083 was closed between Frazier and FM 1484 until just after 5 pm as Conroe Police investigated the accident. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office assisted.

According to Assistant District Attorney Warren Diepraam, no charges have yet been filed as the investigation has just begun.

Diepraam did state that Conroe Police were monitoring the intersection as multiple citations had been issued for drivers not stopping for the stop sign on Pollock at FM 3083.

Conroe Police have even given the extra effort by installing a portable electronic billboard at the location to warn drivers to stop.

Conroe Police have not yet released the names of the drivers involved.
