09:30a.m.- FM 1314 both north and southbound should open shortly. It has been closed since 8:45 this morning when an eye bolt failed on the overhead traffic lights dropping them to the ground. One woman who was driving through the intersection at the time had quite an experience as the wires dropped onto her windshield. The only visible damage to her vehicle were the black marks from the insulation on the wires.
DPS, Caney Creek Fire Department and MCSO are currently redirecting traffic.
You are unable to enter the intersection on SH242 if you are driving northbound. At present you will need to u-turn to Old Houston Road, follow it north to SH 242.
As officials attempt to direct traffic many drivers are still attempting to cross the live wires to get where they need to go. Many have stopped with questions of how to get where they are going as they only know one way. With the heavy traffic patterns and multiple traffic accidents in the county motorists are advised to always have an alternate route in mind.
