FOLKS, THIS IS THE NEW MONTGOMERY COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- Tuesday night, I attended the new Montgomery County Republican Party meeting in the Montgomery County Commissioners Courtroom. I attended Tuesday night’s meeting because the newly elected (and unelected) party leadership planned to censure State Representative Will Metcalf and State Representative Cecil Bell for what, to me, were BIZZARE accusations.

So, this is a County Courthouse, Montgomery County Republican Party meeting, and yet they refused to allow the general public inside. Despite plenty of open seating, they MCRP leadership forced members of the public to stand in the foyer outside the court, for more than two hours, and it was not “executive session”. After some people spoke and there was applause. The leadership ORDERED not to clap or “whoop” and even threatened to escort people from the meeting if they reacted again.

After the threats, the State Reps spoke and the citizens in the foyer, who were not allowed in the courtroom, clapped and “whooped”, prompting Chairman Gwen Withrow to order the doors closed.

Parliamentary procedures—-WHAT IS THAT??

The entire event is in the video below, except for one spot where I had to change a battery. The first part was a nice presentation by two Montgomery County Judges, Laird and Bales, . explaining the reasons a new county courthouse is needed. After their presentation, things went south, and fast……..TO me, it seems that maybe about 80 people are making decisions for the entire Montgomery County voting public.

The video is long, and later, I will be breaking out some excerpts from State Representatives Bell and Metcalf. (Yep, the same Metcalf who last session authored the bill that passed for an $18 billion tax cut for Texas taxpayers.) There’s more information coming, including exactly which Precinct Chairs were in attendance and how they voted. However, it was a rollcall vote, so they can be heard voting in the video.
