A trash fire near Splendora Monday afternoon spread to some grass and into a pasture. As Caney Creek and Splendora, which sent multiple trucks to the scene tried to contain the fire, the wind carried it into the woods.
With the heavy wooded area it made it more difficult to bring it under control. Crews moved from off Daw Collins to the Champion Deer Lease off FM 2090 and able to cut it off at one of the roads within the property.
A total of 4 to acres was involved.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is Investigating.
