Thursday afternoon a mother took her 4-year-old daughter into the women’s restroom at the Water Crest on Lake Conroe Community Pool. As they walked into the women’s restroom 19-year-old Roman Elias Maciel, who is employed by Inframark Pool Maintenance Services for pool maintenance was in the handicap stall. He told them he was working on something and then walked out. As she was in the stall with the child she spotted a cell phone wrapped in toilet paper. Thinking something wasn’t quite right she investigated. As they exited the restroom, the mother had the cell phone she found on her. Maciel then assaulted her and another person in an attempt to get the phone back. He was able to and threw it over the fence. He then also fled across the fence into the woods. He was arrested in the 6000 block of Hendricks Harbor. He is now being held in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of invasive visual recording, and two counts of assault causing bodily injury. The judge has set his total bonds at $55,000. In 2022 Maciel graduated from Oak Ridge High School as a salutatorian.
