FOUR DEAD IN POLK COUNTY CRASH

POLK COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on state Highway 146, near Millgate Road, that occurred Thursday, November 9, 2023.   The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 10:17 p.m., a 2011 Buick Lucerne was traveling south, while a 2023 GMC Sierra was traveling north. It is reported that the Buick, for an unknown reason at this time, traveled into the oncoming lane and struck the GMC.   The driver of the Buick, and three child passengers, a 13-year-old female, an 11-year-old male, and a 2-year-old male were pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.  One child passenger, a 6-year-old female, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The driver is identified as 34-year-old Shemikia Brown of Livingston.  The driver of the GMC, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Gorman, was not injured.   This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available.
