With permission from the complainant, we’re posting about an ongoing credit card abuse investigation for public awareness. Two suspects were shown on video surveillance from a local business removing a wallet from the complainant’s purse, which contained several credit cards and identification documents. They proceeded to use the victim’s credit cards to make unauthorized purchases. We wanted to share this post to show how easy it is for criminals to take advantage of innocent people. We included some safety tips to keep in mind the next time you’re out shopping.
