A strong cold front is currently pushing through the area. Temperatures are falling quickly behind the front. After midnight temperatures should continue to fall into the upper 20s to low 30s across the northern half of the forecast area. There is a chance there still could be conditioned supportive of precipitation from 12 AM to 5 AM with precipitation ending 5 AM to 8 AM. Precipitation should be light but possible that there could be a mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet. We are not expecting any accumulations or impacts at this time.
Temperatures today ahead of the front were in the 70s which will make it difficult for the frozen precipitation to stick to surfaces. The main areas of concern will be areas between College Station, Huntsville, Conroe, Katy, Columbus, and Brenham. Timing for this mixture of rain/sleet/freezing rain will be 12 AM to 5 AM tonight with precipitation ending from north to south.
