As troopers were working the accident on FM1485 another accident was dispached in Porter Heights near the intersection of Alexander and Porter Lane.
DPS Trooper Justin Lopez who investigated the accident determined 25-year-old Justin Daryl Sackett of Porter was riding his three wheeler east on Porter Lane when a Saint Bernard ran out into his path. The rider who did not have a helmet was ejected and suffered a severe head injury. Porter Fire Department and MCHD stabilized the victim and transported him to Williams Airport just blocks away where LifeFlight was waiting to transport him to Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. At 12:43 p.m. Saturday passed away at Hermann Memorial Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Witnesses who saw the accident from their homes and also witnesses passing by told Lopez the dog ran off but did seem to be injured.
