FROM RAINS TO SLEET-Periods of Light Wintry Mix Possible across Parts of Southeast TX today

Multiple rounds of light freezing rain or light freezing drizzle will be possible across our far western counties, including portions of the Brazos Valley Area, resulting in a light glaze.

Light off and on showers are expected today, with the best precipitation chances tonight into Tuesday.
The main precipitation type will be rain with a few embedded thunderstorms on Tuesday across most of Southeast TX; however, conditions change as we move further west.
Temperatures will continue to drop near to or below the freezing mark across our western counties, including the Brazos Valley area.
Multiple rounds of light mixed precipitation will be possible over these locations.
Given that it is a shallow cold airmass, uncertainty in timing and whether or not a changeover to freezing rain/drizzle will occur is still high.
The greatest icing potential will be focused for north-central Texas; however, a light glaze is expected for parts of the Brazos Valley area.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Brazos, Burleson, and Washington Counties from 9 AM through 6 AM Tuesday.
Depending on how weather (especially surface temperatures) evolves during the day, the Winter Weather Advisory could be upgraded and expanded to a Winter Storm Warning.
Travel could become difficult in the advisory area, with the greatest risk by the evening commute. Hazardous travel conditions are expected further west across Central TX.
