Hundreds joined Harris County Precinct 4 Deputies Wednesday afternoon at the Enchanted Cypress Ballroom for a fund raiser for an injured deputy. Last month Deputy Constable Gay was responding to a family disturbance near SH 249 and SH99. As he arrived one of the persons involved in the disturbance shot Gay 7-times in the legs. He was able to call out for help. Units responded and after an extensive search was able to find the suspect. Gay spent close to 18-hours in surgery to repair the damage to his legs. Doctors saw it could be up to 6-months of rehab before he is able to walk again. During that time his family will be incurring expenses due to Gay not able to work his normal extra jobs which provided for his wife and children. In addition to Christmas just weeks away. BBQ plates were sold and there were several silent auctions. Many of the auction items were quite popular as they related to the World Champion Houston Astro’s. Gay was also in attendance and was in good spirits as he laughed and joked with fellow deputies. Citizens wishing to donate by mail may mail your contribution to 18482 Kuykendaul Road, #191, Spring, Tx 77379. Please have checks made out to Deputy Justin Gay.
