On February 8, 2011, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard Edward Meissner for Felony Theft. The arrest stems from an investigation after golf equipment from the Woodforest Golf Club Montgomery, Texas was found missing on January 12, 2011.
Reviewing video surveillance employees were able to spot the suspect taking merchandise but could not immediately identify him.
Working with investigators from the Sheriff’s Office the suspect was identified after finding that he had previously purchased a gift card from the Pro Shop.
The suspect returned to the Golf Course after he was told that he had won a free round of golf. When Meissner arrived to claim his prize he was arrested.
It is believed that Meissner could be responsible for other similar thefts outside of Montgomery County.
Meissner is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
