About 1pm Monday afternoon as the eye approached the New Caney area a good samaritan and his friend both donned their tractors and began to move tree debris off the roadway, As they did so the winds picked back up. That is when a large tree toppled from the wind landing on the man and his tractor. MCHD and Porter Fire were dispatched to the scene but the male who was in his 40’s was pronounced deceased. Montgomery County Precinct 1Â Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack was contacted for an inquest. He ordered Rios Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigated the scene.
