Sunday night and into the very early morning hours of Saturday workers will be removing barricades on the Grand Parkway Tollway from Interstate 45 to US 290. It is expected to be complete by dawn and allow motorists to travel from Spring all the way to US 59 in the Richmond Rosenburg Area. The first week will be free to allow motorists to get the feel of it and see how it affects their drive time. After that you will be required to have a TXTAG or Harris County Toll Road Tag. There are no toll booths.
This is expected to take some load off of I-45 and also FM 2920 as motorists travel east and west.
The section from US 59 in Porter to Spring is expected to open in a few months.
After battling a record 38 inches of rain during the construction it is finally complete.
