Just after 630pm, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported multiple stabbing incident at the Shiroh Citgo Grocery on Highway 30 in far north Grimes County. Units arrived to find a male and female who had been attacked at anĀ RV located behind the store. They said the suspect attacked them with a machete. Both were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital. At first, the suspect who is identified as Elpidio Deleon Gonzalez, (04/02/79) was thought to be in the home across the street. Highway 30 was closed as the house was surrounded. About 45 minutes later the house was cleared and it was evident the suspect fled. Currently, it is unknown if he is still in the area on foot. A vehicle owned by him has been identified as a Mitsubishi Mirage, white in color with a Texas Temporary tag of 93C732A. It is possible the suspect has fled to Houston. DPS is assisting Grimes County on the scene as investigators gather evidence. It is reported that the suspect who is the female victim’s ex-boyfriend broke into the RV which is occupied by the female victim’s new boyfriend and a family member. Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said DPS was able to locate the suspect and arrested him near Corpus Christi overnight. He will now be returned to Grimes County.
