On September 27, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Grimes County Sheriff’s Office along with DPS responded to a weapons disturbance at Yankee’s Tavern and Grill at 10328 FM 244 in Anderson, Texas. The investigation revealed that a verbal altercation occurred inside the establishment between two groups of men. The altercation escalated and continued outside the business, where one of the men was shot.
Deputies identified one victim, who was transported by AirMed to a hospital in The Woodlands for treatment of a gunshot wound. The victim was reported to be in stable
condition. His name has not been released at this time. Antonio Jesus Castillo was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree
felony. The case remains under active investigation.
