CR 306 is closed from Spur 234 to FM 1748 to allow emergency personnel access to the fire.
The Texas Forest Service, Plantersville-Stoneham, White Hall, Navasota, and Anderson Volunteer Fire Departments are now on-scene trying to get the massive fire under control.

GRIMES COUNTY- Officials say a wildfire is currently consuming 40 acres and growing. A command post is being established near CR 304 and CR 306 in the Stoneham area. The fire is on the south side of SH 105, moving to the west. It is in the same area as the destructive Dyer Mill II fire that burned for days before it was stopped just over a month ago.
