Deputies, Arrest Habitual Violator on Multiple Felony Charges and Warrants
On October 8, 2017, a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 23500 block of FM 1314, Porter, Texas in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. While the Deputy was on scene investigating the crime, he relayed a vehicle description of the suspect vehicle. Deputies, who were patrolling the area, observed a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle description given and attempted to stop it. After a short chase, the suspect turned right onto Russell Drive and drove through a resident’s yard and got stuck. Deputies then detained and identified the driver and sole occupant as Justin Cooker (W/M) DOB 10-26-89. While completing their investigation, Deputies learned that the truck that Cooker was driving was reported stolen out of Harris County. The truck had numerous items in it, which Deputies believed to be stolen from other vehicles as well. Cooker was also found to have active warrants out for his arrest including one for bond forfeiture (Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle) and one for TDCJ-ID Parole Violation.
The vehicle was towed to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office where Deputies and Detectives are working to determine who the remaining property in the vehicle belongs to. Cooker was transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office where was booked for Burglary of a motor vehicle, evading in a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
