County and City law enforcement officers will be working together cooperatively this Halloween conducting sex offender compliance checks and will focus on high risk offenders.
Law enforcement officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Precinct 1, 3, and 5 Constables’ Offices, investigators with the District Attorney’s Office, and the Willis Police Department will be conducting sex offender compliance checks during Halloween, Monday, October 31, 2011.
Montgomery County maintains approximately 750 registered sex offenders and the Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Unit and other law enforcement agencies within the county do compliance checks on the offenders throughout the year.
The Montgomery County Adult Probation Department has required all sex offenders in Montgomery County currently under court supervision to attend a mandatory programming session on Halloween from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Sheriff Tommy Gage and the Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Unit are proud to spearhead this effort with the strong cooperative efforts of the county’s law enforcement, DA’s office, probation, and judicial offices.
