Constable Mark Herman to Name police K9 after retired Precinct 4 Constable R.E (Dick) Moore.

The Precinct 4 Constable’s Office is proud to announce our newest Police K9 “R.E. Moore.”

K9 R. E. Moore is proudly named after Constable Dick Moore, who served as the Constable in Harris County Precinct 4 for 20 years before retiring in 2000.

Constable Moore started his career in law enforcement in 1958 with the Texas Department of Public Safety.  As Constable of Precinct 4 he led the way for Houston area law enforcement.

His department was the first in Harris County to implement  modern day community policing, policing tools and tactics, including putting laptop computers in patrol vehicles. He was instrumental in Harris County with On-Line Computer Aided Dispatch and Offense Reporting.  He was the first Constable’s Office in the State of Texas to create a Citizen’s Police Academy.

Under his leadership and initiative the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office expanded by nearly 600 percent.

Police K9 R.E. Moore and his handler, Deputy Brandon Brauer are already hard at work on the Streets within Precinct 4. K9 R.E. Moore is a dual purpose Police K9 trained in Patrol and Narcotics.

ON THURSDAY, JUNE 01, 2023 AT 10:30AM THERE WILL BE THE OFFICIAL NAMING OF POLICE  K9 R.E MOORE!
