On April 27, 2018 Investigators with Constable Mark Herman’s Emissions Task Force Unit and the Department of Motor Vehicles followed up on fifteen “curbstoning” leads located at the 12000-14000 block of Veterans Memorial and the 21000-23000 block of Aldine Westfield. Curbstoning is often the display of motor vehicles that are for sale along public roadways and county and state right of ways.
Investigators found “curbstoning” at seven locations. These locations are currently under investigation for violations of state laws with the possible filing of criminal charges pending.
“We have found that Curbstoning often involves unlicensed dealers who typically purchase vehicles that are unsafe and resell them to unsuspecting buyers. These types of vehicles have not been inspected by a State Vehicle Inspector and do not meet the State mandated safety or emissions standards. In addition to these findings they are an eye sore to our communities” -Constable Mark Herman
Constable Herman urges the citizens of Precinct Four to report “curbstoning” to the Emissions Task Force Unit at 832.927.6150 or online at, http://www.constablepct4.com/emissions-task-force.html.
