Deputies responded to a breakin on Uvalde Road for an apartment break in on February 3, 2024. While there they were advised of another break in. As they approached the apartment the screen was removed and window was broken. Deputies knocked at the door announcing themselves. As one deputy looked through a partially open shade she witnessed a woman approaching the door with a gun in hand. Multiple shots were fired hitting the woman. She was transported to the hospital and survived her injuries. Later it was learned she was a guest of the resident of the apartment and had broken a window to get in since she did not have a key.
