On Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office patrol units responded to the 11200 block of Veterans Memorial, a business storefront, in reference to a deceased male. Upon their arrival on scene, they located a Hispanic male who was deceased from gunshot wounds. The reportee for the incident, who worked at the location, stated the deceased male was a homeless individual who frequented the area. No witnesses to the shooting were located.  Homicide investigators determined the shooting took place earlier in the morning at approximately 1:00 a.m. The only suspect description at this time is an individual in dark clothing who fled the scene on foot. The complainant was identified as 24-year-old Harvin Chavarria.
