On Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., patrol units with Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office responded to a shooting at the Cashel Springs apartments located at 14222 Wunderlich. Upon arrival, they located the complainant, 20 year old Malachi Lopez, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Lopez was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. No suspect information was available at the time of the incident. The following morning, Lopez was pronounced deceased. The Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit was contacted and took over the case. HCSO Investigators have not been able to determine a motive for the shooting and have not been able to locate any witnesses to the incident.
