Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7900 Rock Rose about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday (April 21).
The suspect, Frederick Williams (b/m, 33), is charged with murder in the 185th Stete District Court. He is accused in the killing of Darryl Banks, 55.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.A. Holbrook and Officer K. McDonald reported:
Mr. Banks was walking west on Red Bud when he was confronted by two suspects, described only as a tall black male and a black female. At the intersection of Rock Rose, Banks had a dispute with the suspects and was then shot. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Further investigation identified Williams as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged. Williams’ family members arranged for him to turn himself in to police at the HPD Stringfellow Southeast Police Station and, on Thursday (April 23), he was taken into custody. The female accompanying Williams was questioned and released.
