Just after midnight a black Dodge pickup was eastbound on SH 242 just east of the San Jacinto River bridge when the truck crossed the center line and struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on. The Jeep deflected into the eastbound lane striking a Toyota head-on. The truck flipped upside down on the south side of the road. According to the driver of the pickup he reached down to the radio and crossed the center line. He showed no signs of impairment. Two persons were transported to the hospital. The driver of the truck was uninjured. SH 242 remained closed for over an hour as the crash was investigated.
