Just after 11pm Friday a report of a wrong way driver started to come in on Montgomery County 911. Units attempted to find the driver. Additional reports continued to come in at the Walker/Montgomery County line. The next report came in after an 18-wheeler which was southbound in the construction area of I-45 near New Waverly spotted a vehicle coming head-onn at him. The driver attempted to take evasive action by swerving into the right lane where he struck a vehicle, the truck then went back into the left lane and struck the female driver who was in her 80’s head-on and continued to hitting another vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler was the only one who received serious but non critical injuries. The crash and hazmat scene were cleared just before 2am.
