At 7:40 pm North Montgomery County Fire was dispatched to a head-on crash at Carmen Drive and SH 105 East. Units arrived to find the road closed and pickup trucks in opposing ditches. According to witnesses, a Chevrolet Silverado was westbound in the left turn lane waiting for traffic to clear to turn left onto Carmen Drive. A driver in a GMC Sierra was eastbound at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly. That driver attempted to pass in the center turn lane at the intersection and struck the Silverado head-on. The driver of the GMC was trapped in the vehicle and was cut out. He was transported in stable condition to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands. He is also being investigated for impairment. The victims from the Chevrolet were transported to HCA Conroe in stable condition. DPS investigated the crash. They were assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constables.
