HEAD-ON QUAD FATAL CRASH MAY HAVE BEEN PART OF DRIVE-BY SHOOTING

Wednesday evening about 5 pm DPS worked a head-on fatal crash on US 75 south of Highway 19 near Park Road 40. A Clayton Matthew Garmon, 23 of Huntsville died in 2012 Ford Fusion after he was struck head-on by a black 2013 Ford Taurus that was southbound passing in a no-passing zone at a hill. The Taurus had four occupants. One of the occupants identified as Daniel Keyvohn McMahon, an 18-year-old male of Huntsville is in critical condition after being Lifeflighted to Memorial Hermann at the Texas Medical Center. The three others were deceased on the scene. They were identified as Shawn James Hudson, 18, of Silsbee, Texas who was the driver of the vehicle. The passengers were identified as Isaac Vincent Espinoza, 18, of Harker Heights, Texas and Jannice Tanton, a 22-year-old female from Buna, Texas. A short time prior to the crash a drive-by shooting took place in the 1600 block of Persimmon, in Huntsville by what is believed to have been the same Ford Taurus. Several witnesses saw the vehicle matching the Taurus in the drive-by in which nobody was hit. According to Huntsville Police Lt. Barnes, Huntsville Police are working with DPS on the crash. A gun recovered from the Taurus at the crash scene is being tested to determine if it matches the casings found at the drive-by scene. A search warrant has also been secured for the Taurus.
