HEAVY RAIN FLOOD US 59

Heavy rains flooded US 59 last night between Beltway 8 and  Little York. One motorist driving fast through the water sideswiped another vehicle and flipped just south of Mt. Houston. Moments later another man in his newly purchased SUV : decided to try running through the water at a high rate of speed. After flooding out several smaller vehicles the driver blew a right rear tire damaging his fender, But that didn’t slow him down. As he got to the intersection of Hopper and US 59 he slammed into the bed of a wrecker.

In all over 30 vehicles were flooded in or near the intersection as people, some with children in the vehicle ventured off into the deep water.
