On May 31, 2010, 644 year old Veronico M. Trujillo was attacked and shot as he sat in his pick up truck at the entrance to his home. According to witnesses two males attacked the victim when they came out of a wooded area and began shooting. Motive is still unclear but robbery could better reason for the attack. Evidence to identify the suspects remains incomplete.
The victim has just recently been released from the hospital.
