HIGH RISE FIRE QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED IN THE WOODLANDS

About 2:45 pm Wednesday Woodlands and South Montgomery County Fire were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire near the loading dock in the parking garage at 9950 Woodloch Forest in the Woodlands. The parking garage sits under the 31-story Woodlands Tower Office building. Units arrived to a vehicle fully involved. A call was put out for Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to respond due to not just traffic but very heavy smoke conditions in both the garage and on the streets surrounding the building. Several people were seen running out of the garage coughing from the smoke. Firefighters were able to enter the garage and knockdown the fire which also damaged another nearby truck. It then took over an hour to clear the smoke from the floors and allow people access to their vehicles. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal is investigating.
