Just after 1:30 am this morning Cleveland Police responded to an auto-pedestrian accident on SH 105 just one mile west of FM 1725. When they arrived on the scene they were met by a man who told officers he was on his way toward Cleveland to pick his wife up. He advised she had already started walking. As he approached FM1725 he spotted some personal affects in the eastbound lane of the roadway. After turning around to further investigate, he found the body of his 27 year old wife at the bottom of the incline for the ditch. A distance of approximately thirty feet. Cleveland EMS responded and determined the female was deceased.
During the investigation that closed SH 105 completely between FM 1725 and Pin Oak Road investigators from the Cleveland Police Department photographed, tagged and packaged almost 100 pieces of evidence. This evidence included the victims shoes. headlight , turn signal and right side mirror debris from possibly a Dodge Truck.
The vehicle that struck the woman did not stop and render aid, a felony in the State Of Texas.
After five hours the road was reopened.
Cleveland Assistant Police Chief Broussard is asking for anyone who spot a vehicle , most likely a truck with heavy right front damage to contact Cleveland Police Department.
