On October 11, 2015 at approx. 144 AM, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls in reference to a major accident on State Highway 6 at FM 1227. The accident involved two vehicles: an 18 wheeler and a Passenger Car. The passenger car hit the 18-wheeler and caught on fire. The accident is currently under investigation by Trooper Balzekas of the Texas Highway Patrol. State Highway 6 is currently closed down to thru traffic on the southbound side for the duration of this investigation under the direction of TXDOT. .
