HOUSTON AIRPORTS UPDATE-TSA WAIT TIMES

Houston Airports continues to work closely with TSA leadership and federal partners to support screening operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) as the federal government shutdown continues.

Today, TSA wait times are averaging

  • 25 minutes at IAH Terminal E
  • 15 minutes at IAH Terminal A
  • 10 minuets at HOU

These wait times reflect the traditionally lower passenger volumes expected on Tuesdays.

While wait times have improved today, it’s important for passengers to understand that during the government shutdown security operations can change shift by shift.

Travelers should continue to arrive at the airport with ample time before their flight, listen to the instructions of airport employees, follow all security guidelines and stay informed through the airport’s social media channels.

“We’re grateful for our TSA partners who continue to show incredible professionalism under difficult circumstances,” said Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports. “We’re working together, shift by shift, to keep passengers moving safely and efficiently during this federal government shutdown. We thank travelers for their patience as the situation continues to evolve.”
