Just before 10 pm Friday a man in his thirties was just about to leave the Conoco Station on West Fuqua just blocks from his home. A male, for unknown reason fired at his truck striking his arm. The bullet passed through his arm and into his chest. Badly injured he called his wife on the phone and told her he had been shot and was on the way home.
His wife went outside their home on Tiffany Street in South Houston to await his arrival. She watched in horror as he approached the corner, ran across the grass of the corner house across from his home, went across the road and crashed into his next door neighbors master bedroom. His truck went all the way into the house.
The home owner and her mother were at home at the time of the crash, she was just getting into the shower when she heard the bang. Going to the hallway , walls and ceilings were still collapsing. Her elderly mother luckily was in another part of the house.
Paramedics were called and resident said they were able to get him out of his truck. They initiated CPR and he was transported to the hospital. At last report he was talking to police and has been in surgery to remove the bullet out of his chest. It is unknown how much internal damage there is but family members say his heart and lungs are fine.
Police were able to take a suspect into custody and are still investigating.
