HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On Sunday evening, Houston-based activist and New Black Panther Nation leader Quanell X and Dr. Candice Matthews (recently proclaimed the “National Minister of Politics for The New Black Panther Nation”) escorted the two men identified as suspects in the fatal shooting of a Humble Sunoco Gas Station clerk last week. Around 7 p.m., the pair of activists escorted the pair of suspects to 1200 Travis Street in Houston, headquarters of the Houston Police Department.
Earlier in the day Sunday, Quanell X notified police and news media, as always, of the time and location of the surrender he planned to escort.
Tonight, police are interviewing both suspects. The suspected shooter has been identified as 17-year-old Mario Young Furgeson, who has been arrested on a warrant for the charge of murder. The second suspect has not been identified or charged with a crime as of this posting, but police were questioning him.
