Just before 4 pm Friday Huntsville Fire responded to a plastics warehouse fire on Wire Road just northwest of the city off Highway 75. They arrived with heavy fire and chemicals involved. With only 2 hydrants close by additional tankers were requested along with manpower due to the 99 degree temperatures. Fire departments from Polk, Brazos, Madison, Walker, and Montgomery County assisted bringing the blaze under control. There have been no injuries but several firefighters are being watched due to heat. Link Plastics warehouse was totally destroyed. The heavy flames set a neighboring building owned by Boone Exploration. It too was destroyed. Firefighters stayed most of the night to hit all the hot spots.
