Huntsville PD Update on Officer Sean Brinson

Friday evening, Huntsville Police provided the following update on Officer Brinson, who was critically injured December 15, in a head-on collision with a fleeing suspect:

We would like to share an update on Sean and extend our gratitude to the community for its continued prayers, encouragement, and support.

Sean has now undergone a total of five surgeries, and doctors have confirmed that all internal repairs have been completed. His medical team is hopeful that he will be able to transition to inpatient rehabilitation sometime next week. While there is still a long road ahead, this marks a positive step forward in his recovery, and he is in good spirits.

Tonight also brought a special moment for Sean’s family, as Santa paid a visit to his children and niece, delivering gifts and bringing smiles during an otherwise difficult time. We are incredibly grateful to those who helped make that moment possible.

Sean joined by video and was able to talk to some of his co-workers and the Huntsville Fire Department crew who were there the night he was hurt.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the love shown to Sean and his family. For those who have inquired about making a donation, Prosperity Bank has established an account for monetary contributions. Donations may be made at the Prosperity Bank location on 11th Street, any Prosperity Bank branch, or in person at the Huntsville Police Department, and we will ensure they are directed to the family.

Please continue to keep Sean and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate the unwavering support from our community and will continue to provide updates as his recovery progresses.
