HUNTSVILLE SHOOTING SUSPECTS ARRESTED AND CHARGED

Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting that left two people dead and two injured at an off-campus party near Sam Houston State University, Huntsville police said.

Police had been searching for two men who were wanted for questioning in connection to the deadly shooting.

The suspects have been identified as Joe Allen Lewis, 21, of Huntsville, and 19-year-old Lynn Johnson, of Shepherd, have both been arrested.

On Saturday at 12:38 a.m., Huntsville Police Department officers responded to a shooting at a large house party near 19th Street and Avenue O.

When police arrived, multiple victims were found at the scene, and lifesaving efforts immediately began, according to authorities.

Four victims were reportedly transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Two of the victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to police.

The other two victims were listed in critical condition.

Lewis has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and Johnson was charged with assault.

Police have said more charges are expected soon for both.

Lewis is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Johnson’s bond is set at $50,000.
