This morning in Commissioners Court, Jason Millsaps, head of Montgomery County Emergency Management gave an update on the cleanup efforts. To date, there have been 788,000 tons of debris picked up. He said they are averaging about 35,000 tons a day. He said they are almost complete on the first round and will be a second round. Cul de sacs will be last as the trucks pull trailers and cannot make the turn in cul de sacs so they need to disconnect the trailers. Commissioner Noack asked about the location in his Precinct and asked if it could be moved as football starts in just over 30 days for the youth and he believes it to be a safety hazard. Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray has his crews working in Porter Heights today. They are dumping on FM 3083 in Grangerland next to the soon-to-be-reopened Grainger Hardware. In the meantime, contract haulers have taken the property on Old Houston and FM 3083 and are dumping and grinding at the same time.
