A major head-on accident Tuesday morning in Grimes County forced the closure of Highway 105 .
Troopers on the scene say a woman driving a VW Jetta eastbound on 105 hit an oncoming white mini-van head on. According to DPS the woman was killed in the accident. The driver of mini-van seemed to be fine but was transported to St Joseph Hospital in Bryan via PHI medical helicopter. His injuries were not life threatening.
TxDot closed Highway 105 for about 1.5 miles west of FM 2445.
The Jetta had Kentucky license plates on it. The driver’s identity hasn’t been released pending notification of next of kin.
An autopsy has been ordered.
