Received information this morning that Hwy 787 at the Trinity River bridge will be CLOSED to thru traffic beginning this morning and lasting through the weekend, scheduled to reopen on Tuesday February 20th.
TxDot officials indicate that the closure is necessary in order for the contractor to repair damage to the highway caused by Hurricane Harvey.
Motorist will not be able to cross the Trinity River on Hwy 787, contractors are working with first responder agencies to provide an emergency lane for their use only, however, general traffic will need to find an alternate route.
TxDot has advised they will notify us if the bridge reopens sooner than anticipated.
