I-45 reopened at 9:15pm following an pedestrian fatal crash. Witnesses say a Hispanic adult male attempted to cross the freeway from the westside to east at the Research exit ramp. A witness said it appeared he came from the tree line by the cemetery. He crossed several lanes before he was struck by what is believed to be the rear trailer wheels of an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler did not stop as it is believed the driver did not even realize he struck anyone. DPS investigated the crash with MCSO and Shenandoah Police assisting with traffic control. THe male had no identification on his person. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene for the inquest and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
