The Texas Department of Transportation Houston District announces multiple closures along Beltway 8 and Interstate 45 North Freeway for bridge repairs, beginning at 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024. The work is a continuation of roadway repairs for a $2.8 million project to rehabilitate portions of I-45 North from I-610 to Cypresswood Drive.
Crews will be replacing bridge expansion joints as well as cleaning and sealing bridge approach joints. ISI Contracting, Inc. is performing the work and the project is expected to conclude this fall.
The closures are as follows.
• Beltway 8 North eastbound connector ramp to I-45 northbound: Total closure from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.
• Beltway 8 North westbound connector ramp to I-45 northbound: Total closure from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.
• I-45 North Freeway HOV Lane: Total closure from 9 p.m. Friday, August 2 until 4 a.m. on Sunday, August 4.
• I-45 North Freeway northbound entrance ramp from Greens Road: Total closure from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.
• I-45 North Freeway southbound entrance ramp from Airtex Drive: Total closure from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.
• I-45 North Freeway northbound from Greens Rd to Airtex Blvd: Multiple alternate lanes closed from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.
• I-45 North Freeway southbound from Airtex Blvd to Greens Rd: Multiple alternate lanes closed from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.
