Just after 7am Monday morning a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound on I-69 in the middle lane between FM 1314 and Northpark. Traveling in excess of 80 mph the male driver changed lanes clipping a van. This caused the Malibu to spin out of control and into the median between the freeway and the feeder. Striking three trees the back half of the car was almost completely ripped off. The fuel tank was torn away and landed on the median of the feeder after it crossed three lanes of traffic. THe male passenger was laying back in his seat and was very close to a decapitation. Both driver and passenger were transported to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition. DPS investigated the crash. Saddle Creek Towing was tasked with trying to load the vehicle and parts. Traffic was extremely heavy due to the crash causing delays in EMS getting to the scene due to many motorists going to the shoulder to try to see what the hold up is. Porter Fire also responded to the scene.
