According to DPS approximately 3:30am this morning an 18-wheeler tried to pass an pickup on the Interstate when he thought he saw oncoming traffic in his lane and tried to get back into his original lane. Instead the 18 wheeler hit the pickup and flipped over spilling highly flammable and toxic Isobutene onto the Interstate. Only minor injuries were reported.
Interstate 10 is now closed between Highway 73 (Hamshire) and FM 365(Winnie) and will be closed through most of the night.

The Texas Department of Public Safety now advises it could be Wednesday morning before the freeway is reopened.
From Conroe it is much faster traveling SH105 through Cleveland to US 69. Continue south on US 69 for 3 miles and you will approach Interstate 10. Over the past year TXDOT has added some passing lanes to otherwise two lane SH105. The road is in good condition, scenery is great and the drive is about 1.5 hours.
