IF YOUR GOING TO RUN FROM FROM THE POLICE DON’T RUN HOME

Just after 4 a.m. Thursday morning Sgt. Chris Rogers with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was responding to a disturbance call on Crowley Road in the Grangerland area. After he got the information from the reportee who said the suspect had already left Sgt. Rogers remained in the area. He had determined the suspect Michael Ray Hamilton, age 30,  had an outstanding warrant for family violence.

Within a short time he observed the suspect returning to the residence in a black SUV. He followed him to the home and into the driveway. At that point the suspect accelerated and drove around the house barely squeezing between the house and fence and sped out onto Crowley Road. Sgt. Rogers activated his emergency lights and at speeds close to 80 mph chased the suspect west on Crowley, then south on Pearson then back east on Stoltje.

As they approached a driveway on Stoltje the suspect attempted to turn into it and lost control on the gravel crashing into the woods. Hamilton then fled into the woods.

As other deputies joined in the search Hamilton was located in a bedroom at his home which was just the other side of the woods where he crashed.

He was taken into custody. He now has a wrecked SUV and another charge of evading arrest with a vehicle.
