INTOXICATED DRIVER CRASHES IN GRANGERLAND

At about 8:30 pm Tuesday a mother and daughter were traveling north on FM 1485 from New Caney when they witnesses an intoxicated driver pull out of a bar and was unable to maintain lanes. A call was made to Montgomery Coutny Sheriff’s Office. Dispatchers kept the caller on the line as they updated the location of the driver. As they approached Grangerland the intoxicated driver ran the red light at FM 3083 and FM 2090 and slammed into a man who was heading home from work with his Chevrolet Equinox full of the tools of his trade. The female did not immediately stop but rolled into the parking lot of the Iglesia Cristiana Luminares en el Mundo Church. Her vehicle came to a stop just inches from vehicles parked in the parking lot and members of the church who were just leaving the complex.  Montgomery County Deputies arrived on the scene to work the crash. Neither driver was injured. However, the intoxicated driver, identified as Katherine Julia Ward, 39, of 9700 West FM 1097 in Willis was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail charged with driving while intoxicated. Her bond was set at $600.
