A seaplane named Zeus is based at Lone Star Executive Airport in Conroe and sometimes uses Lake Conroe for training exercises. Every time Zeus goes out for some training, people flood Montgomery County’s 911 system with reports of plane crashes. The training exercises are now being announced in advance in an effort avoid this issue.
The next training exercises are scheduled for Monday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m., and will involve multiple takeoffs and landings on Lake Conroe. Anyone who might be on the lake is asked to refrain from chasing Zeus, and to maintain a safe distance, and not cross in front of the plane during landing or takeoff.
